On May 7, 2020, a study was published about the behavior of the French post Covid-19. Carried out with a panel of 1,000 French people, 50 pharmacists and 50 doctors, it highlights the impact of the global pandemic on the image of pharmacists.
Thanks to the Covid-19 periode, the image that French people have of their pharmacists has improved: 19% of French people say they now have a much more positive image of pharmacists than before and 74% just as positive.
Meanwhile, 80% of patients say they trust more their pharmacists. Thanks to this new trust, the relationship between the French and pharmacists is taking a different turn.
Patients state that they seek more contact with pharmacists: 83% of patients would prefer to buy at their pharmacy rather than other places of purchase such as online pharmacies or internet, 80% would like to ask for more advice and 61% would be more likely to turn to their pharmacists for advice rather than going to a doctor. Finally, the pharmacist (re) gains an important place in the care journey that shouldn’t be neglected!
